A post from the Anne Boleyn Files popped up in my feed reader today, linking to an article on that blog’s sister site, the Elizabeth Files. On April 23, 1616, William Shakespeare died. He was probably born on or very close to the same date in 1564; he was certainly baptized on the 26th. (Today is also the feast day of Saint George, who I think I’ve seen referred to as “England’s other patron saint.)

In honor of the Bard, I’ll post one or two other things later in the day. Watch this space!

Dyeing Versus Dying

grammargirl:

Dyeing: What you do to eggs.

Dying: What the bad guys do in movies.

Actually, dyeing is done to eggs only during the period shortly before Easter. However, it is done to such things as yarn and fabric (and hair, but we won’t go into that) throughout the year.
